Each year, students in the MYP also engage in at least one collaboratively planned Interdisciplinary unit (IDU) that involves at least two subject groups.
The core philosophy of the MYP is interconnectivity. The MYP includes a service component that makes students aware of community and global issues. It starts in the classroom and extends beyond it, requiring them to take an active part in local and global communities. Students at RA get chance to act and interact with public and private spaces. This interaction with the spaces allows opportunities to the students to connect and contribute to the real world that exists outside the traditional classroom hence, developing international-mindedness through global engagement, multilingualism and intercultural understanding.
IB learners strive to be caring members of the community who demonstrate a personal
commitment to service, and act to make a positive difference to the lives of others and to
the environment.(IB Principles to Practice)
Students undertake the Personal Project during the final year of their International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) as a culminating experience. It provides them the opportunity to demonstrate their acquired knowledge and skills over the five years of the MYP. To complete this project students, decide what they want to learn about, identify what they already know, discovering what they will need to know to complete the project, and create a proposal or criteria for completing it. The Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, self-management skills, research skills, communication skills, critical and creative thinking, and collaboration, is focused and developed through the Personal Project. This project comprises a process, a product, and a reflective report.

Salma Jan
Coordinator MYP
Welcome to Rupani Academy!.
My name is Salma Jan, and I am serving Rupani Academy as the Middle Years Programme (MYP)
Coordinator. I believe that the IB MYP is one of the best curricular frameworks for students
aged 11-16.
The ultimate goal of IB is to develop internationally minded citizens by developing intercultural understanding and global engagement skills. The MYP aims at transforming individuals holistically by modeling the attributes of learner profile. The MYP encourages students to connect their learning with other disciplines and the real world through interdisciplinary approach and conceptual understanding. The MYP teachers at Rupani Academy embraces the philosophy and standards of the IB MYP by allowing students to grasp and solve challenges in many disciplines. The teachers emphasize on developing communication, thinking, research, self-management and social skills. Students are given ample opportunities to demonstrate their learnings through presentations, exhibition, field trips, projects, service and actions. The MYP plays a critical role in bridging the educational journey of our students from the Primary Years Programme (PYP) to the Diploma Programme (DP). The program encourages inquiry, critical thinking and fosters curiosity, creativity and innovation. I encourage you to explore the MYP at Rupani Academy.
Warm regards
